“War Ready-Go In His Strength”

In this current season, God brought to my memory a different story and a different way of looking at what it means to “Go With God”. It’s one thing to step out and obey Him because He gave you a command, but what about stepping out purely based off the bold faith that He’ll deliver and keep you?

The story He gave me was about Jonathan going into battle with just his armor bearer. He didn’t go bc God commanded it, he simply said, “Come, let us go over to the place where the Philistine soldiers are on the other side.. It may be that the Lord will work for us, for there is nothing to keep the Lord from saving by many or by few.” Not only was he outnumbered, in a bad position, but even the path to cross over was boarded by sharp rocks; one named Bozez “slippery” and the other Seneh “thorny cliff”! Despite all of this God made Jonathan victorious that day!

The take away from that for me was, often times what God has for us will have to be taken by force from the opposition, and it could look like an unfair fight. More than that, the path just to get to the fight could be dangerous and have the potential to take us out (now who tryna almost die ON THE WAY to the battle?!) But then you have to ask yourself how badly do you want the victory God’s promised? Will you wait for the war to be won by others and then go in, or do you go with the Word of victory and take the fight TO the enemy…
